Trenton Times: “Eat Trenton” a Great Idea
Not only was our event picked up in a front page article by the Trenton Times, but two days later, the editorial board featured its ulta-positive take on the event!
EAT TRENTON
Join the TCNJ College Democrats as we collaborate with the Trenton Downtown Association to bring a brand new experience to The College of New Jersey: EAT TRENTON. Promoting local and city businesses, EAT TRENTON will feature ten restaurants and three musical acts from Trenton. TCNJ students can experience delicacies and culture located only a few minutes away, and will hopefully bring themselves and their business to Trenton.

Volunteering at LollaNoBooza
Hello everybody this is your Vice President Tom Little. At the last minute, the College Democrats secured a table for LollaNoBooza. I know we typically don’t do this kind of stuff, but I think it’s a great opportunity for us to be part of the community and show people that we’re a serious club. Our setup is really easy; my plan is to just give out granola bars, and information for volunteering. Our message is “Civic Engagement is the Best Substitute for Drinking”. I know Tuesday is the first day of class, but it would be really cool if you guys come to our table and volunteer for at least an hour. We’ll be doing this from 8pm-12am. Again, you just need to stay for an hour, and we’ll start to pack up at around 11pm. Here are the shifts for Lollanobooza.
8-9pm (We’ll be mainly setting up the table)
9-10pm
10-11pm
11pm-12am (We’ll start packing up)
I’ll be there throughout the night, but if you’re interested in volunteering for an hour, let me know ASAP by emailing us.

Vote-By-Mail Success!
The TCNJ College Democrats are proud to announce that we have successfully lobbied our Mercer County clerk to request that Vote-By-Mail ballots have pre-paid postage on them in the 2010 General Election. In the past election, the first one featuring VBM, there was a disparity between ballots applied for and completed ballots mailed back of about 3,000. Seeing that many college students are unable to get to a post-office (especially freshman), and many students are stereotypically low on cash, pre-paid postage would allow them to vote much easier. It is our hope that vote-by-mail turnout will increase and that this small addition will allow those to vote who were once unable for various reasons. Finally, we are excited that in the following years, this practice may become standard in all elections. We strongly urge the 20 other county clerks to follow in Mercer’s footsteps.
